This February, the NBA is bringing one of the most entertaining sporting events back to Houston – NBA All-Star 2013. Returning for the first time since 2006, NBA All-Star is a unique experience that celebrates the NBA’s greatest athletes.
Fourteen-time Grammy Award-winning artist Alicia Keys and three-time Grammy Award-winning artist NE-YO will headline the “Entertainment Series presented by Sean John at Macy’s” as part of the 62nd NBA All-Star Game festivities in Houston on Sunday, Feb. 17. Keys will perform a selection of her chart-topping hits during halftime and NE-YO will tip off the All-Star player introductions. The game will air live at 8 p.m. ET on TNT, ESPN Radio, and in 215 countries in 47 languages.
Prior to the start of the All-Star Game, global superstar NE-YO will welcome the players to the court with an exciting performance of some of his greatest hits, followed by nine-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist John Legend, who will sing the U.S. National Anthem. Actress/singer Gloria Reuben, who currently stars in the multi-Academy Award-nominated film “Lincoln,” will perform the Canadian National Anthem.
On Saturday, Feb.16, Nick Cannon will host State Farm All-Star Saturday Night, airing live at 7 p.m. on TNT, featuring performances by British pop sensation Ellie Goulding,American Idol Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips, and recently reunited pop punk band Fall Out Boy. Goulding will tip off the evening by singing her No. 1 hit single, “Lights,” followed by Phillip Phillips, who will perform his hit “Home” between the Taco Bell Skills Challenge and Foot Locker Three-Point Contest. Fall Out Boy will rock the house with their brand new No. 1 hit single “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up),” prior to the start of the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. In addition, RaVaughn will perform the U.S. National Anthem and Michelle Peavy will sing the Canadian National Anthem.
Global pop music sensation Ke$ha, Grammy Award-winning hip hop artist Ludacris and Grammy Award-nominated hip hop artist B.o.B. will help tip off the 2013 NBA All-Star Game when they perform during the Sprint NBA All-Star Pregame Concert on Sunday, Feb. 17. The Sprint Pregame Concert, which will be held at the NBA All-Star Jam Session Sprint Arena in Houston’s Georgia R. Brown Convention Center, will lead up to TNT’s exclusive telecast of the 62nd NBA All-Star Game at 8 p.m. ET.
Hip hop superstars, Ludacris and B.o.B will open the show with a live performance during NBA TV’s coverage of the Sprint Pregame Concert beginning at 6 p.m.ET, prior to TNT’s pregame coverage. Ke$ha will hit the stage to perform during the live telecast on TNT starting at 7 p.m. ET.
