Miley Cyrus' first break-through role was in Disney channel's hit series Hannah Montana. The show was a smash and hit records, sell-out tours and merchandising deals soon followed. She became a movie and music superstar, which lead her to many lead roles in films like The Last Song and LOL. That same year, she launched her film career by appearing as the voice of Penny in the animated film Bolt; she earned a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for her performance of its theme song, I Though I Lost You. In 2009, she starred in the feature film Hannah Montana: The Movie.
Cyrus' fame did not stop there. She has become a pop star sensation with four studio albums such as Can't Be Tamed. Due to the enormous success, Miley was granted the title of the 59th "Most Influential People" list made and released by Time magazine in May 2008 as well as the #35 "2008 Forbes Celebrity 100".
With her most recent single We Can't Stop, Cyrus' new album will be one of the most anticipated albums of the year. "Wrecking Ball" became Cyrus' first single to reach number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. On October 2, 2013 MTV aired the documentary Miley: The Movement, which chronicled the recording of Bangerz and featured behind the scenes footage such as Cyrus preparing for her 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance. On July 1, 2014 Forbes published a list of the most powerful celebrities of the moment, Cyrus placed at #17, ahead of Mariah Carey and Taylor Swift.
