Aisling is a classically trained (LAMDA) actor, award winning stand-up, writer and solid guest at a dinner party. She has appeared in numerous TV shows and films, pretending to be other people and also pretending to be herself.
In December 2014, after just three and a half years of stand up, she won the British Comedy Award for Best Female TV Comedian.
As an actress, she is soon to be seen playing the recurring role of Kiera Sheridan in the acclaimed BBC/Netflix drama series The Fall with Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson and has just finished filming Tom Basden’s new show Foreign Bodies, a co-pro for E4 in the UK and TNT in the US. She will soon start shooting The Damned, Jo Brand and Morwenna Banks’ new show for Channel 4. Her other credits include playing Charlie in two series of Sky 1’s Trollied, Lisa in Green Wing creator Victoria Pile’s prime time ITV/ Netflix series Delivery Man and Laura in Sharon Horgan’s show Dead Boss, now available on HULU in the US.
As a writer, she has a script commission from Channel 4 with award winning Catastrophe star and writer, Sharon Horgan and her production company Merman and another with Steve Coogan’s company Baby Cow and has various other film and TV writing projects in development too.
She began stand up in 2011 and in 2012, in what was a surprise to scientists everywhere, Aisling became the first woman in 20 years to win the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny? competition for new stand-ups. Just a year later, her debut solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe, C’est La Bea sold out it’s entire run, received four and five star reviews across the board and she was nominated for the Foster’s Best Newcomer Award (formerly The Perrier Award). Her second show Plan Bea also received great reviews, sold out it’s entire run in the first three days of the fringe and had extra shows added due to demand.
